"Mavim Rules and MS Visio a winning combination"
It will come as no surprise that when Microsoft and Mavim combine their powers as two entrepreneurs in the field of software development, great things are developed. Still, many are amazed by the possibilities offered by Rules 2008 as a repository on top of Visio 2007.
What was the reason?
If you work with MS Visio on a regular basis then you will know that in many cases the same shapes in different Visio charts have the same meaning. Often there is also a separate explanation of the shape available in Word.
This situation leads to differences in definition (inconsistancies) and a huge management problem (many individual Visio charts and related Word documents). Mavim Rules 2008, integrated into Visio 2007, provides a simple way of bringing order and context into all documents and charts.
1+1= 3
But the combination of Rules and Visio offers more than the sum of its parts. Many Visio users would like to publish charts and the related descriptions on an Intranet, generate a Word based manual or a Windows-Help file.
Ideally, as a user, you would like to have this functionality within easy reach; just the press of a button. Consistancy and use of standard lay-out functionality is made possible by the Mavim Rules 2008 and Visio 2007 integration.
Why is Mavim Rules and Visio a winning combination?
- All definitions only need to be documented once and then maintained (thesaurus function).
- Changes can be carried out automatically. If either the charts (Visio) or the underlying thesaurus (Rules) is changed, all relevant files are updated automatically.
- A database that is fully integrated with Visio 2007
- Automatic lay-out function in Visio 2007
- Easily present information in HTML, Word or Windows-help using templates that adhere to your graphic design style guide.
